One of the more common questions we get is, "Do I need a foundation or box spring for my mattress?"

A Foundation was made to sit inside a bed frame and give the mattress full support. Most bed frames only have a few slats going across the frame and require a box spring or foundation. However, if you have a platform bed frame, it does not require a box spring or foundation because it has sufficient support.

Rule of thumb - if your slats have more than 5" of space between each one you will need a box spring or foundation.
